Clemson Photos -- Finally!

So, yeah. I mentioned our awesome trip to Clemson. I didn't take a single photo at the conference, but we had a lovely time on our spare day -- Sunday -- between the conference and C's professional trip to the campus.

C at Fort Hill -- this is the "office," built separate from the house so that the gentleman could get away to do work.



There were some great big trees on the campus.



And some great big rocks and fossils.









And some great big fossil claws.



And some remarkably big fossil teeth.

This is for Mom:

Southern Koi spend their adult lives in decorative ponds at the bases of decorative waterfalls that run under decorative footbridges.



When it comes time to spawn, they swim around the lower ponds, building up speed, then launch themselves over the footbridges (which are built too low to the waterfalls to allow for the Southern Koi to just swim up directly). Sometimes, they don't have the power to get all the way over the footbridge, and they have to drag themselves across with their fins. It is at this point that the Southern Koi are susceptible to their only predator, the razor back pygmy goat. Often, in the spring, the goats can be seen lining footbridges across the South -- they migrate from Hawaii specially for the Southern Koi buffet.

The ice cream at Clemson is worth the trip. We ate it three or four times. Here is the flavor list:
