I've had two, neither of which have anything to do with me being a librarian.
First, I've discovered LibraryThing. I'm using it to keep track of what I've read. I'll probably keep the list here, too, since the LibraryThing list is in my real name. One of the things that I think is particularly cool is that it tells you how many books other folks have read from your list. For example, someone has read 46 of my listed books. That's the most I have in common with anyone.
Today at the library, a Stepford-looking lady holding a little boy's hand approached me and said, "Excuse me. Are you a lesbian?" She said it like she had just found a unicorn -- all smiley and open. Turns out, I had a "gay coming of age story" in my pile. I was just so shocked to have someone loudly ask me what my sexuality is in a public place.
In other news, Speedy is still doing well. Still sleeping through the night. I've been sleeping poorly, so I'll get up when I hear the slightest shift in her kennel and offer to let her outside. She'll come out of the kennel, turn around, and go back in, facing away from me. Bless her, she's trying to be what we want. We are having some trouble with submission urination. C, especially, can't be loud or expressive without a little tinkle. Just a little.
Other than that, just been practicing my peel. Y'all should come out. :)
