Christmas 2009

The holidays aren't quite over, but I figured it was time for an update.

Of course, the end of the semester was it's normal craziness. The Burlesque also had open auditions and our holiday party. C has offered to buy me a sewing machine for my birthday/Christmas. I just have to pick it out.

So, two nights before we headed to Ohio, we gave the dogs Krystal.

Want to see the definition of focus?

Pippin dancing for his supper:

Speedy finally got her share.

However, as ever, Rose got the Lion's Share.

I think it was the Krystal that made them so well behaved on the trip. We passed the Huntsville, AL welcome center in no time.

And there were the normal funny billboards. I'm particularly fond of the "Adult Store" signs, but I didn't take any photos of those. Just this one, which has a Jesus sign above an advertisement for the Boobie Bungalow.

Wooo-whooo! Tennessee!

Some day, I will actually visit Dinosaurworld instead of just driving by.

Pippin enjoys all types of attention.

We did our Christmas on the 23rd because Little Brother had to leave on the 24th. The dogs helped C open his gifts.

Speedy discovered that she is natural enemies with the razor back pygmy goat.

There was snow in Ohio upon our arrival. Isn't that star neat? Mom made it. It lights up. I can totally tell you how to do it. :)

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow! (Because I can be in the house...)

A family of geeks.

The pet store in Ohio has a tortoise. A lovely, friendly tortoise. Little Brother and I are both interested in having one, but that's like picking your own pet, and the pet of your children and grandchildren.

All of us -- missing the sister-in-law, but last year, we were missing C.

I was up for sunrise. Several times. And I was rewarded.

We ate local potato chips. I love the packaging.

Pippin posing.

And Rose.

Little Brother had to leave Christmas Eve to go see his wife and her family. Last year, we got the Sister-in-Law, but no C. This year, C but no Sis-in-Law. :/ Little Brother made it to Kansas City, but couldn't get all the way to his mother-in-law's home -- they had to stop at a family member's home that was on the way. The weather was just too bad. As of right now, though, everyone is where they are supposed to be.

For Christmas dinner, we had hamburgers, potato salad, and Jenny Bruscalinni's marinated salad (recipe to follow...). I had the vegetarian version. Non-traditional, but tasty.

Everyone else had the meat-eater version. The meat is awesome and fresh.

Rose begging.

Pippin was exhausted after a day of, well, doing nothing.

Of course, Christmas day, No Snow. But look at these birds!

There will be more later.
