This space is a recent discovery for me. And you have to walk through a swamp created by oxbow lakes to get there. It's perfect -- isolated with my southern swampy water and my northern running water. It's a place that I feel at home with all of my own conflicting geographies.

Swamps and Rivers
I have to remind myself that "river" means goods and people travel along it. So, when I say C and I went to the Cahaba River last weekend, nobody should think that it is less impressive or larger than the Cattaraugus Creek. In fact, the Cahaba and the Cattaraugus look deceptively similar. The difference is in the stones -- there is less shale here. The stones are yellow/brown, where up North the stones are red/blue/black.
This space is a recent discovery for me. And you have to walk through a swamp created by oxbow lakes to get there. It's perfect -- isolated with my southern swampy water and my northern running water. It's a place that I feel at home with all of my own conflicting geographies.
