Chuck Palahniuk has written lots of books. I’m almost ashamed to admit that once I got the idea behind the first real story in Haunted, I couldn’t read another sentence. I was that disturbed. The book is wrapped in a skirt awaiting transport back to the library. I may not even be able to look at the cover. Rant, however, was excellent. And right now, I’m reading Invisible Monsters, which is turning out to be pretty good, too.
My new favourite statement about life:
“When you understand,” Brandy says, “that what you’re telling is just a story. It isn’t happening anymore. When you realize the story you’re telling is just words, when you can just crumble it up and throw your past in the trashcan,” Brandy says, “then we’ll figure out who you’re going to be.”
My new favourite catty put-down:
She’d wear shades of lipstick you’d expect to see around the base of a penis.
Rant had a few quotes I liked, but I’ve already turned it back in.
